It is important that public buildings be open to the public in various ways. For this new development, located in the centre of the city, to become truly public the architecture required public access throughout the day and night.BATOR STUDIO, FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE STU, BRATISLAVA
The Performance centre, located in city centre of Vienna, implements iconic aesthetics without disrupting the existing architecture. Being open to the public the architecture encourages users to create public performances with its collection of spatial dichotomies for both large open performances, as well as, more private gatherings.
The structure engages with the public via its sculptural grace. The public is provided with glimpses of the interior programmatic in order to engender curiosity. If one enters the interior they are provided with views of the ever changing plaza below, natural sunlight from above, and performances that occur inside. The public is free to create their own performances, when and wherever they please.
